With the other bird having such brilliant colors, I wondered if the subject bird was really that pale or just in the sun.
Thanks for that closeup. Nice portrait. It's eye looks like a jewel.

Harsh midday sun & possibly a blown out highlight, the metering metered off his white head crest feathers instead of his eye and over exposed the shot a bit🤔.

The subject birds a Galah from the parrot family & the red and green fellas a male King Parrot.

WHHAAATT? I know I'm a noob and definitely an amateur hobbyist; except for the eighties when I did slides shows old school... I was the one who thought digital photography could never outstrip slides.
And I'm an American and we've been taught to believe anybody that talks with an accent... but everything else in the photo looks spot on and even the white feathers have plenty of detail.
I'm claiming shenanigans... those are some pale colors!
Below is the most exotic bird I've seen up close and in person and its colors are brilliant. In the second picture the bird is partially in the sun... still brilliant. (My first selfie)
Now I don't want to make enemies my first week here but I say your image is a perfect representation.
I've just never seen a Galah before. My computer doesn't even recognize the name. It suggested gala.

Me too🤣, photography 101 to 103.

Brilliant a Rainbow Lorikeet he is, the sound of there wings flapping is unmistakable from any other bird.
This was at the zoo the other year, the girls have trained them to fly out of there aviary to the person holding the stick.

There getting a nectar hit🤪.

I envy your life, what I know of it.
In the 80's, I was good at sports action and candids. I did slide shows for high school sports awards banquets.
My pay was watching the students get in trouble as they ran to get the best seats after the awards were passed out.
They put my show at the end so the athletes wouldn't leave when they got their acknowledgments.
I was young and thought I'd go professional.
Then computers came.
I switched to video and my wife and I did weddings.
I carried the big old 3-chip camera and my wife would read the instructions to the computer programs and make the titles and menus.
It recorded to a mini tape and I had to transfer every tape in real time.
The guests started bringing straight to hard drive video cameras.
Anybody need a 3 thousand dollar doorstop? It takes great video in low lighting.
I'm 20 years too old for technology and don't know how to predict the future.
Because I was a paperhanger, then I got into reproducing murals digitally... You don't want to know.

Honestly dont envy it Mr, it's far from rainbow's n' lollipops😱.

Bugger, if you got the 3 grands worth out of it before the tech became redundant it's still a win i reckon. You still have it?

I don't mean to say I have self pity or anything, but I always wrestled with what my spirit animal was until I learned that a sponge was an animal.

I noticed your signature. The Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings were my younger son's first big boy books to read. I love quotes.
When we would go to the movies and it was over, I'd ask my kids what their favorite line was.

Now I get to tell my sons that I was told, 'bloody' and 'bugger' non-ironically.

But no, I no longer have the camera. I take literary license with my texts. Sometimes stories need embellishment to be interesting. At least in text. I'm not a liar.😄
I have to use smilies because too many people don't recognize dry humor. I know you weren't trying to catch me in a lie.😒

I still have a camera that plays the mini DV's though. Haven't brought myself to throw out the tapes yet.
If the brides and grooms haven't thought about me after over thirty years, I think I'm safe.

I never was on Twitter, but at a now defunct photo forum I used to change my signature every week and try to make up one liners. I'd Google them first to make sure that I wasn't accidentally remembering something I had read. You're pictures remind me of this one: "Take it from me, there is no gracious way to tell someone that you don't like their pet bird."

Love the shots and all the colorful feathered friends. Here in Florida my Hummingbird is gone North for he summer and the other birds are more scarce. Of course, they knew I got a better camera and lens. Only my Mourning Doves have been faithful feeders. I may have to start with flora over fauna for now.
