Flickr isn't the same anymore...

I actually never used Flickr for their layout.
I used it to store the images and be able to embed them easily on forums like this one.

Flickr has been fine for me, but I hate the "staggered" look. Some inevitably get distorted, so I go to "Camera Roll" until I find what I'm looking for.

Isn't Flickr slowly, inexorably shuffling off this mortal coil?

Who knows...
Internet evolves... but some dinosaurs keep living.

When social media apps came into our lives, I thought that old-school forums would soon stop.
(we're still here)

ICQ and MSN chat died ... instead Messenger and Whatsapp and others came.
But even the older IRC-chats still exist. While there are much recent things like Discord.

(I recently came to a website where they transferred me to their IRC staff ... it was over 20 years ago that I used IRC. And guess what, it was full of people around there in that community)

I get the traditional view when I use the desktop site. When I use the app, I have to click on the comments and scroll to the bottom of that to find exif info.

It's dropped a long way from what it was when I first joined around 11 years ago. The groups/discussions part has almost completely gone, but it's still useful for hosting images to post on forums.
Hopefully it will remain for many years to come without deteriorating much further.

Long time Flickr user, first is because they say that they do not compress my images. I don't know if that is still true. I should check. Second, is as some others have stated, go in, snag image URL and post it to a board, such as here and it's quick, easy and takes no bandwidth from your host. So far, they have not added the side bar to my account. I don't like the looks of that. If they change, I'll ask if there is an option to stay with the old format.

I used to enjoy the weekly challenges and group discussions but yes they are almost completely gone. Great hosting site and makes sharing my photos so easy since I post everything to Flickr after it’s edited so I always have access no matter which device I have with me or even from someone else’s device.
I deleted my flickr because they are known to have creeps :(
Yuck - I have not had that issue. But none of my photos contain people so not a concern really.

I have not noticed any degradation. One of the reasons I pay for the Flickr promos back up photo storage of full sized files. It’s my redundancy online back up.

Thanks for your input on Flickr. I use my account there the same. I have a massive external hard drive that I keep a RAW file of each photo, thumb drives that I store 6 months at a time of edited photos, and, of course, the Flicker account. To me, it's worth what I pay.
