My poor man's Nikon F3 (F-301/N2000)

Not sure why but his one is my fav. I think it might be because it just a simple shot of shadow and light.
Thank you, I liked that one too myself. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out. I think I used exposure compensation to get the shadows black or I might have held the exposure lock button too 🤔

Zero F3 DNA, sorry.
You're entitled to your own opinion, I respect that and you're right, they don't share "DNA" but I stand my ground that they do share a lot of similarities in design. Both 1980s camera and it's quite evident of the similarities when you have them side by side. Nikon even calls it an F301 🙃 so yeah to me, and to many others it is a poor mans F3. The F3 is ridiculously expensive nowadays and you know what? They can take the same photos. Let me enjoy my poor mans F3.

Although, I would love to experience the F3's ball bearing film advance lever. But not worth the premium to me.

I have fond memories of the N2000. I used it in documentation for a professional certification. Lots of macro shots with a ring flash using E-6 film. Never failed me despite having a crack near the viewfinder.

Biggest issue in the used market is corrosion in the battery box. I remember crusing pawnshops years ago and seeing some N2000s with corrosion. Can't leave dry cell batteries forever. The Nikon manual is clear about that risk.

Great 1980s shutter sound...and the fact you need to turn off the camera. I do not recall it having a battery-saver shut off.
