Changing lenses while film is loaded

Can I change lenses while the film is loaded? I would think so because the shutter protects it.

Yes, the shutter protects the film, so does the mirror.

i usually turn the power off if i change lens mid stream ... dont know if it has any significant value

well....when im with someone who has a 2nd lens lol
