Camera trigger sensor for small animals

Hey,

I am looking for a Sensor to capture very tiny animals like lizards or snakes when they are passing by. Usualy an IR Sensor is used but this cold-blooded animals to not have big heat going on and also they are very tiny. Does anyone knows such a sensor?
The sensor should trigger the camera shutter.
