Good, strong composition, and the red really adds some emotional impact. Possibly a very slight tilt to the right (or a crooked basement). Did you partially desaturate everything but the stairs, or was it pretty much colorless to begin with? Either way, it works.

Yes. And added a little saturation to the red.
