What's new

What are you watching on TV right now?

Surprised the widespread crap weather across N. America hasn't revived this thread!
OK, this one blindsided me: "American Primeval" on Netflix. Screenplay by Mark L. Smith,
"The Revenant" writer. WOW! Happily binged it in two chunks. A brutal Western but a strong story line. Powerful acting. 1857 Utah and Wyoming weren't fun places!

By brutal do you mean depressing and realistic? Not sure I can deal with that. I find most gritty westerns to be depressing as hell.

Just finished “On Call” on Prime. I liked it. I do love a good cop show. Will Trent is my current favorite. Quirky and interesting.

Realistic? Yes. Depressing? No. Nothing generic about the Indigenous cast's look. Firearms and costumes, a friend assures me, are period correct. The violence isn't gratuitous but accurately portrays the near-anarchic state of the 1850s Great Basin settlement. Characters kill and get killed. Embedded are a couple frustrated/doomed/tragic romances. Strong performances by Betty Gilpin and Taylor Kitsch. Not your usual "oater." Try it.

I’m ok with some violence but I really don’t like watching cruelty - if that’s not too big of a contradiction…

Bad guys mostly get what's comin' to 'em...That works for me! It's just a movie.

Discovered a series called The Outta Limits, never knew this show existed till a few days ago.

Watching a few episodes at night while backyard camping with the bunny's, got something decent to watch out there for the rest of the season. Brilliant🤘...

Check out "One Step Beyond" TV series on Youtube. It was made in 1959 was the predecessor of Twilight Zone.

Thanks for reminding me i noticed this title a little while back on PLEX, forgot about it though. Seen the newer Twilight Zone episode's but haven't ever seen the original Twilight Zones yet.

Was gonna start on these after the outer limits, probably take me 2 camping seasons to watch. It's fun watching an episode or 2 in the evening while camping out the backyard after dinner🤪.

Running on Prime Canada(elsewhere?)"Rogue Heroes." BBC series. Based on Ben Macintyre's book. 2 seasons. Crazy-a$$ Brit misfits form the SAS to fight the Germans in WWII N. Africa. Sorta original 1970 M.A.S.H. meets "Saving Pvt Ryan." (Best I can do...). Great character acting. Made by the crew who did "Peaky Blinders," another personal fave. Afraid I've know a few Paddy Mayne-like characters...Bad weather binge material? Yup! Besides it's "mostly true."

Just finished Ted Lasso. Loved it.

Clever, sad, inspiring, sweet. Pretty much had it all!
Yes for sure. Sweet but salty. Perfect. I read they will start filming season 4 this year.
