Not on me. On marley:

Poor thing. We adopted him two years ago, almost exactly, from GRREAT: Golden Retriever Rescue, Education And Training. He's almost 9 and we are his third, and definetly final, home.

The vet told us "It is definetly not anything but cancer."

It was on his front-left leg and was removed today. He's still at the vet, recuperating. Apparently he's quite groggy from drugs.

We won't know what type of cancer it is for another week to 10 days. The good news is that it was all contained in the skin; none was attached to the bone.

There is now nothing we can do except wait for the cancer to show up somewhere else.

Damn. I love him too much to be ready to let him go.

:(

Oh, I am so very sorry. I lost a beloved golden/lab mix to cancer. I hope Marley recovers well and has many healthy years left!

Poor doggie - hopefully he'll stay fine now!

Our Lab is still very young, but I'm doubly not looking forward to this - my (now) 1yo will probably have a terrible time with it in 8-10 years (not to mention me and my wife).

he even looks sad/tired in this pic - so sad when they are such a large part of the family... my parents just lost their yellow lab to cancer... she was one of the neatest dogs I have every seen.

I am so sorry to hear that, Danny! So sorry!
I hope it will have stayed in that spot only and not spread ... yes, I hope for that very much.

That is such a sweet picture! He is lucky to have such a caring family at last. I'm sure he will be happy to get home. I hope the recovery is quick and no cancer shows up anywhere else.

sorry to hear i had two rotties who both died of cancer

if it was on the leg it was most proably lymphatic cancer, my 2nd rottie died of that , my first was i think liver cancer, i dont remember

sorry to hear thou...i know what you are going thru...

best of wishes

Wow Danny. Im sooo sorry to hear about your pooch. I hope he will be fine. My thoughts are with you and Marley. My dog is my best friend, and I know how you feel being so close to him.
All the best my friend.

I'm so sorry :(
I know what it's like to get that kind of news, and it will never be easy. I really hope that is the only place it shows up, and I'm praying for you...

I am so sorry that you, your family, as well as Marley are having to deal with this right now.
Though it wasn't cancer, my dog began having grand mal seizures last April for three months consecutively. The vets were essentially telling my family his condition would not improve and it would be best to put him down, but fortunately, before we made that decision, he pulled through and hasn't had a seizure for over a year. I can't even imagine how difficult it would have been to loose him.

All the best.

That is truly inspiring. Hopefully Marley pulls a similarly spectacular recovery.

Thanks for all your concern, guys (and gals). :) Now if only i could get this many responses to one of my photo threads... ;)
