Thought I hit the jackpot...

I remember shooting with a Sony Mavica in TIFF mode. I treated it like large format. I'd take a stack of floppy disks out, shoot, eject the disk, put another in.

It was kind of fun for the novelty. But even back then it was pretty ridiculous.

I had an Atari ST computer...didn't even have a hard drive. Every program had to be run off of a floppy disk.

ha that was my vwery first computer too!! then i found my brothers stack of porn on floppy disks and it got taken away =(

1040ST? That was a fun machine for graphic! Buddy had one...
I think so... And yeah there were some fun games on it! i remember there wasnt even like a desktop screen it was just a black screen that said insert floppy! haaha

I had a TRS-80, and programs (that YOU wrote in BASIC) ran off from a CASSETTE player. Old School!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too had the TRS-80. 16K of memory and the cassette drive. The amazing thing was you good do real work with 16K. Scripset{?} for word processing and VisiCalc for spreadsheets.

That does make me an old man doesn't it. LOL

could be! Lots of memories from those days... I actually found a busted Altair in a pawn shop about 1978.. and managed to get it working.. no external peripherals (I couldn't afford them then).. but I did spend lot of hours flipping toggles to setup sequences of light flashes! that got me hooked on the whole pc thing.

Does anybody remember those digital cameras that used a 2 1/4" floppy instead of a memory card?

I can only remember seeing one once, a guest at my sisters wedding had one.

My co-worker used to have one. The sony digital mavica camera.

I remember VisiCalc. Word processor was Wordstar and DataBase was dBase. I ran CP/M (with Z-80 processor add-on card) on Apple II plus.

One day soon, we will be bemoaning the fact that a 10 PETAbyte drive is only average. And we'll be saying, "Geez, do you remember when the first 1 terabyte drives came out? God they were tiny!"

That was my first computer! then I got an apple IIe, then a 286, then a 386, and a 486sx, then I really moved up and got into a 486dx2 overdrive, 50 MHz!! Insanely fast, especially with the 4MB of ram. Ran Wolfenstein, and Duke Nukem like a champ! Dial in to the BBS's, play a little MUD, chatting it up old school. When I got my 56k V.92 US Robotics...there would never be a use for anything faster!

After BBS and before Internet, I subscribe to this service. (I can only find the install disk2)

I had prodigy as well for awhile, before AOL came along in full force..."You've got mail"! Those were the days when I didnt have to buy 3.5" floppy disks because AOL I swear would send a couple a week to every address, with a 30 day trial! They were locked so you couldnt format them, but if you drilled a hold in the corner you could format them and have a new floppy!

Then came the INTERNET. My father was experimenting with offering an ISP service at his job when I was in like sixth grade before anyone really knew about it.

At that age, waiting 15 minutes for a low res nudie pic was TOTALLY worth it. Gophernet at 9600k FTW!

Ah, I remember those days. It took so long to download your porn that you started the download when you were 12 and by the time it had finished loading you were married and had kids of your own...
