The Coffee House

Was thinking about the the Z8 as its only $1500 odd more over the Z7ii, but id spit chips if i bought that and a few months later they bought out the upgraded model at what ever they'll call it.

But i haven't compared the 8 to the 7ii, specs yet. I've kind of glanced at the 8 and its supposed to be better for wildlife stuff with the eye focus and i think the other thing is the pre-release thing.

Don't know if these are just gimmicks though, im not very knowledgeable about such things???

If Jeremy Clarkson was a photographer, he'd still want more speed & more power🤣. Yeah?
About what a "camera on the shelf" is worth:

Sadly, in most places, the camera companies dictate the camera prices to the stores and the stores obey. There are not many places where this is not true. But what is relevant is that they do tend to drop prices before announcing a new product. So if you check a handful of stores you deal with a given camera will be, overall, "worth its price". For instance, you are looking at an a6700? The predecessor would have been the a6600. The stores probably put them on sale, maybe two, three months before the a6700 came out. Say the original price of the a6600 was $2000 (no, it probably wasn't, I'm just making up the numbers) about a year before. If there was stock in the distribution warehouse, they might have dropped to price to $1700. Say you bought at that price, and the next day the new body came out. Within a few weeks you could probably returned it, though you might have had a 5 percent restock fee. And maybe the newer body came out at $2200. Would the price jump from $1700 to $2200 be worth it? That's the type of choice really. It is unlikely that they older body was being sold without a "clearance sale" (whether they called it that or not) close to its "replacement" being introduced. It is unlikely that they would not have reduced the price of the older model if a "replacement" was that close to the new release, and if you felt that a price for an older product was "too high", you should still have a reasonable return policy.

I deal with reputable stores and do current research before I buy. The kind of regret you are asking about is not something I've ever felt.

Weird thing happened this morning, i slept in. Always up 1 to 1 1/2 hours before sunrise... Was having a dream i was playing pool and there were rabbits on the table getting in the way and nudging balls🤣.

I’m in Indianapolis for a Public Safety Geography Geekfest. I took a short walk along the downtown canal to a decent Italian sandwich shop for dinner. Yes, they have gondola rides.

Want an adventure tomorrow & camping out tonight, put some coal in the fire pit and bake some some spuds with lamb chops and fresh rosemary & a tossed salad.

A kings meal hey?

Whew, 8 days, 1300 mile TN, KY, IN, IL, MO, MS loop with the new RV TT. Towing experience is not quite as good as the 5th wheel but the smaller size made up for it in traffic. Had to layover for a day when the huricane caught up with us on the IN/KY border. 50+ mile per hour wind gusts and heavy rain, shook the trailer occasionally but it did fine. Inside the layout was perfect for the two of us. Have some things to add/change before the next trip.

So how's everyone else?

Noisy week with a new roof. Pups went to daycare for the first day. The first day the crew put in 12 hours and the second was a half day. What amazed me is the precision of the crew on working together.

Decades ago I helped shingle a roof at my parent's house. Old school hammer, no air gun.

Oh thank you, now I want to rewatch it
I found it on YouTube & watched it instead of the body snatchers.

We live near a coal fired power station, after seeing this movie as a kid there was a day when the steam from the cooling tower was in a shape of a mushroom on the horizon.

Scarred me for life that day🤣.

I made some banana bread muffins :D

I tried a new recipe using maple syrup instead of regular sugar, its not bad. I added some eats..didn't have the right oats but it worked. Not too sweet, just right. Goes good with coffee!

Banana bread is the only thing I can consistently make...I tried making cinnamon rolls and failed miserably haha.
