Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P200 reverted to original 2005 date

The detailed instruction manual only cover setting the date and time as part of the initial setup, referring to a separate "Read This First" document that I can't find.

Can anyone tell me how to set the current time and date?

Does the DSC-P200 rely on a small battery to keep data/time info in the camera? I have a Canon PowerShot SX10 that did the same thing, and I discovered that it had a small battery that had run out, and I had to replace it in order for the camera to remember the date and other settings.

" Read This First" only applies to the initial set up so that the instruction in the full manual to refer to it to change the year and date is wrong..

Reverting to factory setting should be a way round this but the manual does not cover this. Can anyone tell me how to do it?

The procedure shouldn't be any different the second time than it is the first. With a Sony, these settings are in the Toolbox menu. See the note below the graphic: "To change the date and time."
