Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Just a question that is springing to mind: has any of you uploaded any of their photos into www.panoramio.com and got them included into Google Earth?

I found the area where I live is vastly under-represented in Google Earth and have therefore placed very, very many of my pics from all around here into Panoramio. They are just now undergoing their stage of approval, after which I hope that with the update of Google Earth on 25 May they will be included, so you could virtually travel to my place and see what surrounds me here.

I've never uploaded anything but have wondered that exactly. You'll have to update us.

That's my page.
As I'm saying, my photos have only just been uploaded and are undergoing approval now. At the end of the month I'll know more. Would be fun to see our unknown countryside area represented some more in Google Earth.

"Pretty lame" is subjective and certainly no reason NOT to try and get your area shown in Google Earth. Most think my surroudings are "pretty lame", too. No sights, nothing "of interest" there, so no one has ever bothered to put up anything much ... and now I came! Ha!

Truthfully, I had considered it a few months ago. The currator of the Rail Musium was using google Earth to show some of the locations of old rail beds, turntable foundations and other railroad facilities here in town he would like to see shots of...but you have seen what is left of our rail road facilities....it's not the most appealing things in the world. In truth in most cases there is nothing there to photograph from the ground. but besides that all we have of any value are a casino and the Red Garter Resturaunt. Other than that it's all decay and ruin.

I'm still keeping the option open, don't get me wrong but, it's not going to be high on the priority list at the moment.

I sure see what you mean, and I am not suggesting anyone MUST put up their pics NOW (only because I did  ). I was just wondering. And hey, it gobbled up DAYS of my life to get them ready for the upload, so it really is only for people who have nothing else to do (like get ready for a week-long TPF meet-up in their very place in only 2 weeks and 2 days from now or so  ). Heehee.

Google might not be interested in pics that only look purdy but rather pics that show more about the area than what a satelite can show. Just something to consider if you're on the fence.

My area is only just flat, too.
And no cities. No sights.
And I still submitted ... erm ... :blulsh2: ... hundreds of photos to Panoramio. I just felt that also the "uninteresting" areas need some representation :D.
