Spare me. Too bad you missed the lecture on personal debt loads and the impact of interest rates on consumer behavior in 2023. BTW, that's going to be a smallish boat!
You're right. There is nobody in the target market for this camera, so it'll fail and sell terribly. Nikon will have to shut the company down because of the lost Z8 development costs. There definitely aren't a bunch of full time photographers who view it as a business investment or wealthy hobbyists who just want the latest and greatest tech to show off to their friends. This camera isn't generally a consumer item that will follow consumer spending trends - those who are buying $4,000 camera bodies either need them professionally or have enough money to be insulated from a market downturn.
Just because you and I won't be buying while it's new doesn't mean it's automatically overpriced. As long as there is a market segment demanding high end professional cameras, they will continue to be produced and sold in mass. You can lament the price of it all you want, but the target demographic is paying the price without blinking.
