It probably would have made more sense to ask here before agreeing to buy, but I bagged one of these for about 150 dollars and can't really justify spending more at the moment (should have it by monday).

Has anyone used this as a kit lens on a d610 or indeed any of the current Nion FX 24 mp cameras, thanks

If I hadn't already had the 24-70 2.8, I might have found a good copy of that lens and used it as my walk around lens.

here's a full album using that on a D600: Charlottesville

(a few shots in there are from my 70-200)

I found it to be very sharp, very light, and distortion free. the focal range is super usable and the macro is a bonus.

Some excellent shots in that Album, thanks. Seems like the lens is a good one, hopefully I can get as good out of it as you did, thanks

I used the Lens Across America 28-105 AF-D on my D3x, a 24-MP Sony-sensored camera...the lens was a good performer! It made some good images. It has a pretty good close-up range function for a zoom lens. For $150, it's as good a general zoom as you can likely find.

Yes, I also used it in the same LAAmerica on my D600 such as Braineacks.
Good lens .. though at that point the clutch was broken.

All those old lenses are pretty good on current Digital cameras.
Though some old ones like the 75-300 AF are mush - good on my D7000, but the image was mush on my D600.

Image quality wise the lens is very good. I find the autofocus hunts a lot in everything but daylight, is this normal for the lens, even cloudy but bright day gives it issues? Thanks
