New Skin/Style available for testing @ TPF

I've got a new "Skin" going on the site that you can test to see if you prefer it over the default skin. This skin has both a Light and Dark variation, just like the default skin.

You can change it the bottom of the site where the Style selector is, or from this page: https://www.thephotoforum.com/account/preferences

Look for Style -- There is also a Style Variation (that allows you to switch from System, which takes the dark or light setting from your Operating System -- or you can specify Light or Dark there as well).

We kept the old skin on the system too so that users who don't like it can switch back to what they are used to.

While I can't say I love it.... yet, I can say that a change every so often is a welcome improvement, keeps the complacency at bay. I for one will be leaving it to see how it "grows" on me.

I like the banner. The notification icon placement will take some getting used to, but not a deal breaker for me.

I thought I had the wrong site at first!

The logo kinda looks more like a car forum logo for some reason, but the rest of it isn't bad. I like the blue, but the array of colored tags on posts can be a bit distracting, at least in dark mode. I am also on my phone at the moment, so it might be easier on a computer screen.

As jarring as it is sometimes to change things up, it's also nice to have the option to try something new.

Edit: Just noticed the new navigation buttons on the bottom. Those are handy and at first glance, I like having them, but I am also a fan of being able to turn features on and off if they end up getting in the way. So I am curious if any of this new skin is customizable beyond light vs dark mode.

It does sort of remind one of the websites of the last Century... it's not bad though.
