Funny but the add-on grips for Fuji MILCs are made to fit Arca-style heads--no plate needed,That's what I did with my Manfrotto - new ball head and a couple AS plates
Yeah that's an option but I hate to replace the whole head just to get another quick release plate.Just get a head or get any head that accepts Arca Swiss-type plates.
Ok... The lights in my old thick skull just came on and I slapped my forehead and realized that you had actually provided the answer I needed and I blew you off... LOLJust get a head or get any head that accepts Arca Swiss-type plates.

It took some googling and I was still not understanding so I went on good ole Youtube and entered into the search bar "convert to arca-swiss".... VOILA!!!!
I am still doing research but this guy really opened my eyes and got it through my thick skull that even if I found the quick release plate I was looking for I still needed to just convert my other 4 crappy tripods with wierd proprietary heads to Arca-Swiss so everything became universal which all these manufacturers should have provided us with anyway but that's a discussion for another place.
Soooo...... Here's the video that I found and the first one I watched that showed me how really simple things can be if you convert to Arca-Swiss.
His links below the video were good too and quickly illustrated how simple and inexpensive the whole process can be.
Thanks to cgw for providing me the obvious and simple answer I needed (Arca-Swiss) and I apologize to the forum for my newbie thick headedness.
I guess now I can blunder on...
Look for more humorous and dumb questions in the future as I try to become at least a moderately accomplished photographer in this highly technical and advanced hobby.
Well.... As soon as I clean up the coffee I just spewed all over my desk I'll try to think up a smart reply but for now I'll just keep laughing until my belly aches...Invoice on its way. Besides, we do host a 12-step program aimed at reducing dumb questions. Most of us are dropouts, though. Ask away. Happy you're happy.
Easy, just stay 12 steps away from another Davis & Sanford head... Shoot straight.I'm about to go deer hunting but sometime soon I'll try that. First I have to figure out how to remove it. It looks like it's permanently attached... No screws, or any other attachment clues visible.
WAIT!!! I just got curious and turned it upside down and VOILA.... Why didn't I think of that earlier... There are two recessed allen head screws on the underside.. No time to try to remove it now. More later... Look out Bambi!
Would someone please point me to the 12 step program?![]()
I plan to do just that. I true high quality tripod is somewhere in my future. Buy once cry once.... I'm a firm believer in quality equipment.Easy, just stay 12 steps away from another Davis & Sanford head... Shoot straight.
Certainly nothing wrong with Arca Swiss products, but be aware that not all their plates are interchangeable. I have a Smith-Victor B-8-B ball head that ostensibly uses A.S. quick-release plates. The tripod foot on my 50 f/2.8 Schneider supposedly fits A.S. heads directly - no plate needed. The lens will not mount on the B-8-B without the plate that came with the head. Apparently it is a different A.S. iteration. I have heard other similar stories ... just something to be aware of. Keep us informed.Parts ordered from eee baaay.
