I was out and about "shopping" at garage sales, when I overheard someone talking about their son's old moped, and how much they wanted to get rid of it. After watching some guy try and brow beat this nice lady into selling it to him for a ridiculously low price, (he said something about "I'm doing you a favor for taking this for $50 bucks" etc. etc. etc) I asked to take a look at it.\

I offered that i really can't afford to buy somehting I would just have to put money into, but it would be great for my 14 year old to have somehthing to tool around on when he gets his license...... She asked me how much I would offer for it. I said "Nothing. I would take if off your hands, but I can't spend any money." Long story short, it now lives at my house.

Now, it doesn't run yet, but I'm not sure it will be a huge talk getting it running. I'm not a superstar when it comes to small engines, so if anyone has any advice as to what i should look for i'm all ears.

The spark plug isn't getting any juice, and the old fuel had turned to varnish in the tank. These are the only two issues I'm aware of. there are probably more. All of the cables seem to be functioning, and the motor turns so there's that.

Any advice would be helpful! And to those of you who would ridicule me for owning a Moped...... Don't worry. It's OK to be jealous. :mrgreen:

Looks pretty cool, actually. I'm not at ALL familiar with those...but it does have a strange appeal!

Fun project! Dissasemble, just make sure you identify every part.....or when you re-assemble you always end up with extras
