Although it's old school hardware, I do loke the results from my Kodak DCS 760. I feel the colors are true and the resolution is decent at 6 MP. I try to get the framing correct so there's not excessive spot enlarging and reframing. I have a previous post with my general idea but last evening I started on my prototype to confirm the packaging aspect. After getting the old nicad junk out carefully without breaking the surrounding plastic I test fitted the replacement LiPo (lithium polymer) batteries. The voltage match isn't perfect but at 7.4V for the new intended battery vs 7.2 for the original I'm satisfied.

While my confidence is high, I still thought it was worth the time to share this with our group. The LiPo type batteries can become fairly hot if pushed too far so testing will be needed.

Looks like an interesting project.
Well, whether digital of film I'm collector of both and now retired I care for my "museum" lol! As an engineer, I was charged with finding solutions so I can't help myself haha!

G'day mate

Every DIY project is a good project - even if is has to go thru several iterations / prototypes to get to the end!
Your solution looks good to me -- I would not worry about a decimal point difference in the starting voltage, as during use the pack will (probably) drop to about 5 volts before it needs recharging

Thank you sir, because that confirms my thinking.
