I own a Fujifilm S5700. Have had it for years. Great little camera-and yet....... I have developed a focusing problem. To autofocus, press the button half-way as usual, and I get an icon that indicates
this-!AF. None of the trouble shooting remedies seem to work. Never had this problem before. Is my camera finally dead? Camera takes fine distance pics. Any
help would be appreciated. Thanks. I want to use it to take pictures of coins.

It's a 17 year-old camera...Got a smartphone?

Listen-I am 78 years old, I still live in the first house I bought 52 years ago, and am still married to my bride for 59 years. I like to hold on to stuff. I liked this camera until----------- Oh, and I have trouble using a smartphone.

As a 80-year man, I understand your problem. I am not familiar with your camera, but every camera has a minimum focusing distance. I suspect that you are exceeding your camera’s capabilities in this regard. Photographing coins is best done with a macro lens. However, in your present setup, I suggest that you photograph at a greater distance and then crop to enlarge the picture. Sorry that I couldn’t be more helpful.
