Hi,
Wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I have a Canon EOS 1n in almost mint cosmetic condition, but seems to have some sort of connection difficulties. I bought this camera from an individual that seems to never have used it, or at least hardly used it. It originally arrived with the dreaded bc error. Got that cleared up, but now looks like something else is causing issues. Only works in manual focus. Same situation with all EF lenses I've tried. When placed in autofocus, the green focus dot flickers and then goes solid. Some of the LCD modes aren't changing either. Then I switch to manual focus, and almost everything works pretty much as it should. Then every once in a while the autofocus comes back to life. I've cleaned the contacts, used a blower to clean any dust particles and cleaned the mirrors as well. When I switch to autofocus, the lens moves in and out and then locks in position. The dot visible in the viewfinder glows solid green. The LCD modes will not change. I left it alone until this morning, and turned it on and all functions came back to life. 30 or so minutes later, it would only work in manual mode. Anyone have an idea? Hoping for some help.

Not a Canon shooter but if this can't be permanently remedied, get a refund. That's my idea. Move on. You might consider trying KEH for used gear. A few bucks more spent at a reputable dealer is usually worth it.

Thank you for your suggestion. I paid very little for it and it's still working in manual focus mode. Not worth sending back.
Thanks again

Can't believe it, but just picked the camera up and it started working again. I hate intermittent problems. Not sure how long it'll keep working, but for now, it is. Hope someone has some ideas.

My A2E did that once about 15 years ago. I took the battery out, waited 1 min, put it back in and it's been working ever since.

Thank you for your response. I'm kind of hoping that I'll have that happen for me. So far I haven't been lucky. Seems I continue to use poor judgment when making purchases. But there's always a chance something will go my way. Thanks again for your response.
All my best,
Mike

Hi,
Just wanted to let you know that I tried your suggestion and for now it seems to have worked. Not sure how long it will last, but it's working. Thank you very much, I really appreciate your tip.
