Apple Dumpling

I worked as a baker some time ago.... I would suggest you skip on the hydrogenated fat and use just butter. Or margarine even. I would also use yeast with yeast starter for soft but chewy texture.

unbleached all purpose flour
very refined white sugar
hot water 43"c
instant yeast
yeast starter, like 2 rounded teaspoons
and knead until the bread when stretched looks a bit transparent and stretchy



I would go overboard on the sugar btw.
Pie dough with yeast? The dumplings can be made with puff pastry.
