Photos OK to edit
I took this shot this morning while out on my walk. Its of a maple sugar house, I've photographed this a few times before but I think it's a really nice scene. I don't usually carry my camera with me on my walks but I have my phone which is a Google Pixel 8 and I'm rather impressed how well the photo came out, I did shoot in RAW as the jpegs that came out of the photo look to "digital" in my eyes whereas the RAWs look more natural to me.

Which has made me kind of wonder, do I even really need a nice camera anymore? Perhaps its time to get of my gear and go phone only, it sure would make things easier sometimes. Who knows.

Do you need a nice camera? NO, you can get perfectly good pictures with a cell phone. Do you want to take picture that are unique, difficult to capture, make use of interchangeable lenses, can be coupled to other optical devices and etc. well maybe. Do you like tinkering with a camera to get the picture you want, than yes. Heck I use an old film view camera, you have to earn those good shots.
