At denver during a nasty layover, this isn't something I can easily replicate or continually take photos of but took the opportunity. How do you feel about the amount of blur, how much focus is in the water? I wanted it to kind of emphasize the weather, the rain, being inches from the glass and looking at the water drops. One thing unplanned that I kinda like is how there are no people in the shot. You think you'd see others loading, walking around, whatever they do but it was a neat bonus.

It's there now. Looks gloomy and doesn't make me want to get on the plane. I do agree with your focus on the droplets, so this is a good choice of DOF. The absence of people does emphasize how nasty it is out there in this shot.

Overall I'd say you accomplished your goal. It's pretty much what I'd expect looking out on the scene. One question, what is the white line at the top coming from the right side and turning down? Something outside? Reflection?

Other than that, It isnt a bad image, but lacks any real interest. A low contrast, gray scale image, shot in flat light, without a significant focal point ultimately makes for a dull image. Maybe if it had some ominous clouds on the horizon, or something that would make the viewer stop and take a second look.

Fair points, I'll try to keep those in minds next time. the top white lines are the flourescent lighting reflections

Bit of a dog's breakfast. So many interesting but disjointed elements. Low contrast. SOOC? A little post would have helped. Just doesn't communicate as posted.

it's nasty when you're out in the weather... it's picturesque when you're photographing from indoors!

p.s. the focus and space between the rain on the glass is really well done. the hazy, leaden skies, darkened tarmac - a wonderful composition.

While I'm not a fan of a shallow depth of field without creative purpose, I think this shot might have benefited from having the scene outside the window being a bit more abstract. As shot, I feel my gaze going back and forth between the window and the tarmac. I think you did well technically, but I think more abstraction would have made for a more impactful image. Maybe even allowed for some color a la Saul Leiter
