Newish variety for us. They turn from eggplant purple+green to a red blush with an almost black top. Medium size thanks to our scant summer rains. Slightly sweet taste with a touch of acidity. Like 'em.

Yes, they’re actually shutters, but when they are partly open and the sun hits them just right, they make spots of light.

Thank you! The background is not a composite but I did create the “sun” using a radial filter in Lightroom.
