..don't have macro gear and want to play? Might not work for all cameras, but worth a try. This from handholding backwards a kit zoom set at around 40mm and f8., 400iso, light from a desk lamp covered by 2 layers of tp to manage glare. DOF is paper thin so more tries would have got both eyes in focus. Speed was 1/80 but your light source will vary. Focus by moving the camera-lens combo. Set your machine on M and see if it will co-operate.

Full frame, no crop.

Actually working on the New Year's concert for the State Music
Conservatory, I shot lots of details of musical instruments for the
promotional flyer that will be printed. I hope this fits the bill.

Great image! I used to play tenor sax decades ago. Mine was never that clean!
