Out looking for morel mushrooms in the creek bottom yesterday when I walked up on this little rascal concealed in the periwinkle!
At that point I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity for a few close ups after making sure mom was not around. The deer really love to hide their fawns in this stuff every spring as it swallows them up so they are un-noticeable until you're right on top of them.

Wifey was out mowing once, and saw this unusual spotted rock. Went around the "rock" and then noticed that it wasn't a rock but a fawn. Fawn didn't move the whole time.

I'm sure the doe was watching from concealment, because wifey took me back there to see the fawn and it was gone.

You terrified it.

Don't think you could hope for a more fortuitous set of circumstances. Beautiful shots. So cute.
