1959 Ford Ranchero

I like it. Old cars had the most amzing tail lights.

And 2 years after the Ranch intro in 57 came the El Camino from Chevy.

I think Ford did that because of the 1958 recession and Americans wanting smaller more gas friendly cars. Sales rose by 6000 a year but still a slow seller with around 21k for 1960. 72-74 was the best selling Ranch with over 40k sold a year but by 79 it was toast.

Best ever for Ford though, turn the "Punky" (love that btw) Falcon into a snorting Mustang and made millions. Good thing as they were coming off the Edsel disaster.

Loved the "pocket" muscle cars like the mid-60s Falcon Sprint and Chevy II SuperSport with small-block V-8s.
