Hello,
I need advice on renovating wooden antic cameras with brass fittings.
My problem concerns the brass parts that the manufacturers of the time thought it wise to varnish to protect them from corrosion. These parts have often seen their varnish coat partially abraded by use and friction.
The brass thus exposed to atmosphere takes on a different coloring from that of the neighboring parts still protected.
It is particularly unsightly.
Do you know a product allowing to remove these old varnishes of which I do not know the composition without damaging the underlying brass surface?
Thanks in advance.
