"Steep Nap"
As a newbie, I began wildlife photography in June of 2024.
In October, I wanted to find some mountain goats to photograph.
So I got to the trailhead in the dark and hiked by headlamp up for 2 hours to arrive at the top of the mountain at sunrise.
I spotted 2 rocky mountain goats at eye level, but they were feeding away from me and they were in dark shadows of a northwest facing slope.
So I waited as the sun rose and moved across the sky.
Finally 4 hours later, the slope was bathed in soft sunlight, the goats had bedded down, and luckily were facing me at eye-level.
