Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Went hiking with my dad over the weekend and took some pics. I looked at them (after I edited them) on a different computer and the editing looked totally different than what I show on my computer...so I don't know which computer is off! :er: Anywho, I know some of them are edited a bit heavily but I like the way it looks! On the waterfalls, the bottom of the water (where it hits the rock) is blown out....is there any way to correct that?

Thanks for looking!

1. This is the lock at Starved Rock...

2. Another shot of the lock....just on another side of the river...

Hey, good ol' boring Illinois :lmao: Just kidding, you have some nice captures here. The waterfalls look nice and I prefer the color images. I think the 4th is the best of the bunch.

Your best bet as far as color issues is to calibrate the monitor where you do most of your editing. The Spyder Express can be had for around $75 and will make a huge difference in your editing.

Aside from that, how were the waterfalls at Starved Rock?

Thanks! I'll definitely look into Spyder Express. Such a pain in the butt that ALL monitors can't be calibrated the same! But oh well! Such is life! :) The waterfalls were good at Mattheisson but I have NO idea where they are at Starved Rock! We went on two trails but no waterfalls...just WAY up! I don't know if we were in the wrong part of Starved Rock or what trails we need to be on to get to the waterfalls! :er: Any ideas?

You'd have to grab a map but the trails that start behind the visitors center (I believe) lead out to the small falls that are throughout Starved Rock State Park. The specific canyons where falls can be found are (from the website)... St. Louis, French, Wildcat, Tonty, LaSalle, Hennepin, Ottawa, Kaskaskia, and Illinois Canyons. Spring is the best bet to see the falls as they're usually dried up by summer.

Hey,great images. You can correct the blown out water if you shot in raw, plus play around with the burn tool...that is if you have photoshop cs2 or 3. Im not sure if you can do it in elements
