These trees are quite common here in the Philippines, unsure where else they may grow - certainly not in the UK(!)
Very distinctive rough and peeling bark which makes the trunks look black from a distance but as you get closer see they are not - Bark seems to attract parasitical ferns as well which are the green leaves appearing to shoot directly from the trunk.
