Made it back from Christmas at the beach with my father. It's become a monthly pilgrimage to Virginia Beach as I am the only child and his only living relative. A lot falls on my shoulders and he's all I have so it gets consuming between my work and life, but we have to be there and it's one of the reasons I'm not as active as I'd like to be on the boards.
Got him out for a couple of adventures. He's been through a really rough patch the past few years so I try to maximize time with him when I can, while also trying to not over do it with him.
While he is legally blind now (macular degeneration) he can still see enough to enjoy a good sunset. Just getting out in the fresh, salty air does him (and me) a lot of good.
Here are a few from a couple outings:
Fisherman's Island Sunset on the Eastern Shore of VA
The little buildings off on the horizon, between the legs of the bridge, is Virginia Beach Town Center, 23 miles away.
Cape Charles
Downtown Norfolk, from the drone
The Wisconsin
A big panorama of 21 pics, stitched in post of all of Norfolk.
Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, VA
Newport News Ship Yard. I was really quite surprised that this was a clear area to fly, but glad it was. You can see two carriers being built, one in drydock, the other floated out but stuill very much under construction.
