What else would you expect from their entry-level cameras?

Unfortunately no information is provided regarding how the DR get tested and how the result get evaluated. I'm wondering if both the DX and FX mode was tested against each other using the same resolution (take the picture as FX and resize to the same size as DX). If this is case, maybe that's the reason why? Within the same camera the DR for each sensor pixel should be fixed no matter what mode is being used.
