I had a great morning at Woods Mill Nature reserve in Sussex, photographing the flies around the bridges.
All pics are hand held / Manual focus using only daylight.

There was another photographer getting "In Flight" Flies. Might give that a go but looks very complicated.

Comments always welcome.

2 and 5 I like the most.

Thanks for the comments.

That was a great day. I took 300 pics in about 4 hours and thinned them down to about 50 keepers.

Just the sort of day that keeps me interested in photography.

Nice dragonfly shots! No damselfly in sight. Now get some in flight!

Funny enough that is my next objective.

While I was getting these pics there was a guy doing that and I took some time to watch him. He was using a 100 - 400mm or similar and catching the in flight flies at the short end and focussing in while they were flying. Looked really difficult and he obviously had put in a lot of practice but the pics he got were 80% ok and 20% spectacular.

This might have wait until next year as the season for Dragon / Damsel Flies is just about over in the UK.

Damsel as requested:

Still not sure of what the difference is but enjoy. I had a lot of keepers that day.
