What does a currawong mean spiritually?


On the whole, the bird is associated with magic, witchcraft, divination, and also quite a bit of prophecy.

Currawongs are known to kidnap young crows (actually Ravens) here. Certain times of the year there will be 'pitched battles', where a dozen or so Currawongs hassle a group of crows to kidnap the young Crows. Incredible sight and sounds. And yes the Currawong call is just fabulous. The call is almost like the sound of the name: Currawong Currawong Currawong.

Kidnap, you mean kill yeah? My Maggie's chase them off most of the time especially during breeding season, got a friendly one that'll sit on the windowsill to be hand feed.

Even caught one stalking my rabbits and got worried that he'd peck one of there eyes so he got in trouble.
