Received a new Nikon lens 70-180 from factory. The back cap is stuck because the factory puts it on while still hot according to BandH.
Any idea how to remove it?

Looking at the back of the lens, turn the cap clock-wise.

Hot caps ??! That story has ZERO cred, mainly cuz its impossible. Just remove the cap in the normal manner. There is no such problem. If all else fails, RTFM.

A cap that's still hot? Utter nonsense. Those caps were manufactured MONTHS before they saw the back-end of a lens.

Not to mention in completely different factories in completely different countries. Be kind of hard to ship them and get them on the lens while still hot.

Righty loosey, Leftie tighty.
