Canon Speedlite 420EX

I'm researching external flashes and have come across some good deals for the Speedlite 420EX, which I now know is a discontinued model. Does anyone know if it is fully compatible with the Rebel T3 (1100D)?

If you're looking for a cheap flash get a yongnuo 468 which has ETTL or a 460II which is cheaper but no ETTL. Excellent flashes...

The 420EX will work. And I believe the EX series will with work with the canon digital SLR cameras.

However, one draw back is the 420EX cannot be used as a manual flash. So if you are planning to use it off camera with non-ttl radio trigger system, the light output is always be the same. But as an on camera flash, it should works fine.

I have a Yongnuo Flash and Love using it with my Nikon SB-600. You can pick them up for VERY cheap compared to non-third party flashes. It is a great option for someone looking into the world of speedlights.
