Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
This is from my boyfriend, Buzz (no, it's not his real name :801: ). I thought some of you might be interested in a bridge camera for a child, spouse/partner, or other family member who might kinda like photography but doesn't want a DSLR, or even for yourself as a good camera to grab when you feel like taking some snaps but don't feel like shlepping all the gear around.

Here's his ad:

It's served me well for several years (I bought it new), but my
photographic needs have changed and it's time for it to go to a new owner.

Great little advanced compact, with the important controls (aperture,
shutter speed, ISO, and exposure compensation) all available via dials
or knobs, not menus. Lens is a 28-140mm equivalent with image
stabilization. Swiveling and folding screen, optical viewfinder, and
several video modes with stereo sound recording. Small enough to carry
easily in a jacket pocket, large enough to feel like a real camera in
your hand.

Mine is in excellent condition with fewer than 6,000 shutter actuations.
Aside from a few very small marks on the left side of the body, the
cosmetics are very good. The glass is perfect (I'm guessing there are
probably a few bits of dust inside, but I can't see them). All functions
of the camera work perfectly.

In addition to the camera itself, included are the original Canon
battery and charger, and a second (aftermarket) battery. Also included
is a Canon FA-DC58B filter adapter – this mounts to the body via the
bayonet mount and extends and retracts with the lens body – and a
circular polarizer and UV filter. These extras would cost about $80 if
purchased today.

KEH is getting $248 for a G12 in EX condition with one battery and
charger. I'm asking $250 for the whole package, plus USPS Priority Mail
shipping (tracked and insured) at cost.

I have one of these, and it is a great little camera. It is the camera version of the "grab" jacket you have hanging by the door. I've heard a lot of professional photographers have one of these just so they always have a camera with them.

^^??

Oh, I see. Your comment somehow got mixed into the quote of the OP. I'll copy below:

I've borrowed it a few times and I agree - image quality is really good and it's very portable. Perfect for an easy camera to keep with you so you never miss a shot.

Oh, and it shoots both JPEG and RAW in case you all didn't already know that.

I posted to my FB page. I don't have many FB friends, but maybe one of the nieces will be interested.

Point and shoots are great, I can only imagine how great one that shoots in RAW would be!!!
Sounds like a great Christmas gift for someone!:)

It is a really good camera. Under good conditions (ISO 400 or lower, good exposure) I have trouble figuring out which shots came from my T2i and which from my G11 (same sensor as G12).

It really is quite good. Here are a few shots I took with it when I borrowed it for a stroll while on vacation a couple of years ago. These I believe were shot in JPEG (I was just playing around, taking some snaps. No need for RAW in this case) and are totally sooc - I've done absolutely nothing to them other than resize - so you get a sense of what the camera itself can do.
