Canon EF lens to FD mount Adapter

I have a number of “L” grade EF lens and was wondering if they can be adapted to my various Canon FD mount film cameras. I understand the loss of autofocus, which I don’t mind, but can they be used as a manual focus lens on my A-1 or AT-1 cameras.

I'm not sure if that's the case this way round (EF lenses used on FD bodies) the question is usually asked the other way round, where optics are definitely needed.
FD mount has a 2mm shorter flange distance the EF. Mounts are similar in diameter but EF is the smaller so the EF lens might slip far enough into the FD body to reach infinity.
Considerable effort would be needed to give a proper focus, or any control of the aperture, as these are both controlled purely electronically on EF lenses. I doubt demand to use FD bodies is high enough for any serious research into giving a user interface here.
In reality I think the best you're likely to get is to try freelensing.

FD bodies should be easy to adapt to most older mounts but again I doubt there is enough demand for a commercial option.

There are some cracking EF film bodies that should be able to use your L glass.

Instead, EF lenses can be used with corrective optics adapters, modified lenses, or FD lenses. The limited edition Canon EF-FD adapter is a costly option, while modifying an EF lens requires skilled work and may impact image quality. EF has a flange distance of 44mm, while FD requires 42mm, that works in your favor. Sadly it's not going to be enough.
I think you'll find the EF-FD adapter you're talking about was to use FD lenses on EF bodies. Something any Canon user would have wanted to do when migrating to EOS.

No need for an "adapting lens". That was the good news. The bad news is no way to set the aperture.

In the verrrrry unlikely event of such an odd adapter existing, it would be usable with high end EF mount cine lenses, which have full manual control. But why would anyone put a $6000 cine lens on an FTb ?!?
