Back button focus and grips

I'm just curious, if you shoot Canon and have your focus mapped to the AF-ON button, what do you do when shooting in vertical orientation when using a grip?

Nikon grips have a second AF-On button right there on the back of the vertical grip for use in the vertical orientation.

I just checked, the Zeikos vertical grip for a D300 ha the second AF-On button also.

My Canon grip on my 7D has the back AF button.

I didn't realize that some grips had the AF-ON button. I wasn't using back button focus when I bought my Canon grip so I didn't even pay attention. Although unfortunately it looks like the Zeikos 50D grip doesn't have an AF-ON button either.

On the 7D I can remap the AF to the * button instead/inaddition to the AF-on button - maybe you could do the same on your 50D. That at least gets you backbutton AF when using the grip.
