Hi All,

I am a novice at this so simple words please. I wear my dslr with a peak design camera strap using one side and one bottom anchor - and although it is a quick disconnect, there is the issue of using a tripod. I am willing to spend about 100.00 more or less for a compatible tripod, but not 300.00-400.00 for a peak design tripod. I do not understand how I can use a tripod if the camera strap anchor is screwed into the bottom of my camera. Please explain and also suggest a compatible tripod.

Thank you

Hello and welcome. I have been using Peak Design straps for many years, for mine I use the side lugs so that I can quickly alter the length of the strap, and does not block tripod screw.

It ought to be a simple matter to remove the strap from the tripod mount to mount the camera on a tripod.

I can't imagine blocking the tripod socket with a strap anchor... All I've ever used with any strap is the lugs.

I wear my Peak Design strap just as you do, it was more comfortable to me carrying it all day. I bought an Arca Swiss adapter that mounts to my tripod screw.

This is what I purchased. I used the plate on the bottom of my camera and mounted the quick release portion to my tripod.

dear 10acres - you are the first one who gets my issue! thank you. i'm going to follow your lead and buy the same mount. i would be so grateful if you could send a pic or two showing your peak design mount on your camera and how it looks when you use the tripod is the quick release loop visible? does it ever get in the way? thank you dan. thank you, Dan

ps what tripod are you using? i also find it more comfortable in this configuration

Over-complicated solution looking for a problem...No thanks.
Never a fan of dangling cameras but an old school small Manfrotto plate would likely work.
