The weather cooperated today (ie it didn't rain or snow!) as a group of eight photographers gathered in Toronto to wander around and take pictures. We met at Union Station, then went to BCE Place, and passed the Hockey Hall of Fame, the Flatiron Building and the St. Lawrence Market on the way to the Distillery District. Here’s a group shot of those who made it out and braved the cold:
(Top row) Jewel (Jewel32), Karen
(Middle row) Donna (Julie's sister), Suzanne (Megapaws), Jenn (Carroll1), Jeanne (Antarctican), Carl (Chiller)
(Kneeling) Nelson

Suzanne has a better version of this picture, so I hope she posts it.
Many more pics to come, so stay tuned!!

I LOVE that. I think if the bench was in the bottom right corner and the screen was in the top left, it would be more balanced, but I still love the idea.
A little more contrast, and saturation could make it pop a bit more:

........thanks for the stickem Corry.
Well, another Toronna meet has passed, and another awesome laugh filled time was had. Soooooo cool to see everyone again. The wind chill could have stayed away, but still had a blast.
This was my first time having the camera out of the bag in 5 weeks, and it felt like I was starting over. :grumpy:
I threw these together real quick. Might see what people shots I got.
After Union Station we headed over to the BCE place

After a quick stop for lunch, we ended up at the Distillery.

This is why I like cycling better then driving. Parking is always available.
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-12/564918/IMG_3296aa.jpg
...not my bike.
Kinda dug this guy.... I would have this on my living room wall.
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-12/564918/IMG_3301aa.jpg
We were not supposed to take pics in this place, but....it was too late.
On the trek back we made a few stops. The entrance to a church.

These guys were just amazing. I only managed to snap a few shots, as the heavies came and chased everyone away.

Poor Suzanne! She had a run-in on the TTC before she even met up with us, then another by the St. Lawrence Market. Could have been more, but those are the ones I heard about. And she's such a sweetie, it's so hard to imagine why people get all uppity with her.
Yep, saw the trucks. Gonna post pics of mine later tonight, hopefully.

Ah Carl... I'm so happy to hear that I am not the only one who was accosted during this meetup. I'm sorry that I had to cut out early on you guys, otherwise you would have been able to shoot whatever you wanted without any problems what so ever with those biker dudes.
Jeanne, my group shot wasn't as good as your group shot. There was a blinker and since I didn't use a flash, things were a bit dark. You did a great job so I was more than happy to leave it at that.

What a superb collection of images and fascinating to see the different takes on the same scene - I can empathasise with all of you over similar things that attract my eye when out and about. I shall have to get a rowing boat and paddle across the pond with Lostprophet to join you all. Yes we had an early version of high summer over here for all of the kids Easter holidays so waiting for your weather to come over an wreck havok on everything that has sprouted earlier than usual.
A super day out - what is TTC run-ins? Traffic police? We have jobsworth stopping pictures being taken over here as well - wonder how Canniletto would have got on trying to paint now days. A wonderful thread - thank you all for you postings and comments - feel that I am getting to know you all better. The Toronto Terrors at play!

The TTC is the Toronto Transit Commission (our subway, streetcar and bus system). Another person on the subway/streetcar got snippy with Suzanne as she travelled to meet us.
Hey, you and Lostprophet (and anyone else who wants to join in the fun) are welcome to join us for meetups! What are you doing May 26-27?? C'mon over!

If we can ever get some nicer weather, we can go for a shoot. We usually try to get something going for the Doors Open Toronto weekend.
