When you snap your fingers, does the sound occur when your middle finger releases from your thumb, or when your middle finger hits the palm of your hand?

Try to sneeze with your eyes open......
:D
PLEASE NOTE! I'm NOT responsible for any eyes popping out
while trying!!
Sneezing with your eyes open can make your eyes pop out

Strangely enough, I've just finished my bout of sneezing and are missing an eyeball. Bugger!

Its gotta be the finger hitting the palm. Its just gotta be.

Alright after several hours of thorough scientific research I can say for a fact that the sound occurs when the middle finger comes in contact with the palm.
indeed from the palm.....you neednt more that a sheet of paper to test this fact....

Its gotta be the fingers sliding apart. Has anyone ever gotten with a friend, locked pointer fingers and pulled apart fast enough to make a snapping nouse? I have. so its gotta be the fingerse comign apart

I've done that! hehe. But if you try snapping without letting your middle finger touch your palm (yes, I actually tried this...many times.. ), then the snap doesn't make any noise.
