Yep today I met up with Lafoto for a few hours..... She was on her way to Portsmouth..... and kindly stopped off at my home city of Plymouth (England).... So we did the photo meet-up thing..... the following snapshots and pics were taken from todays lunch and stroll to the sea front.....

Luckily, Plymouth is home to a series of photography exhibits for the next 2 weeks and we spotted an outdoor one on the way..... the theme was 'Earth from the air' and features several well known shots of our planet from above..... unfortunately i didnt get any good shots of it tho....

We had a fun day..... and i concluded that corinna is a very nice person (i paid her to say the same about me)..... and no doubt she'll add her pics to this thread.....(but check with me first on the embarrassing ones corinna K!!!)...... I may also have a few more..... but im shattered right now!... and the editing on these is dodgy enough as it is......
we had a good day! ....... but unfortunatly when a mod meets another mod it rains frogs in another country... and a load of other wierd things happen.

Hallo-hallo, so here I am in Portsmouth, checking out this thread and seeing the photos that AA took of me for the first time, and he never let me check them out beforehand to tell which ones of me I'd find embarrassing (I like ALL of those I can see here now, I might add :D), so I just MIGHT feel tempted to post up his in here without letting him see them first, too :D!!!
Today we are still having these gorgeous clouds here in Portsmouth, and wouldn't it be just lovely if the weather held until after this weekend, the important one, THE TPF UK Meet-Up weekend!!?!?!?
Your photo of the steps is marvellous, Archie, I really like that one, and I aimed at the lonely fisherman too, only with a longer lens ... must see what it really looks like once I am back home and can download all that's on my memory cards into my computer. Then I can also show you what I was aiming at when you sneaked over my shoulder.
For all of you folks I can say that when I met Archie I just went through a brief moment of wishing I were a) at least 20 years younger and b) single and unattached  --- he's just such a cool guy. Ha! And I like his spacious office! And think SPACIOUS! ;) Shouldn't they, Archie?? Heehee
Photos from me of the mini meet-up at the beginning of next week, ok?
Haha...... thanks guys.....
...and thanks corinna :blushing: ...... im glad you liked my SPACIOUS office! lol.... ok inside joke..... we had to take corinnas HUGE suitcase somewhere whilst we went for our stroll..... and the only place i could think of was my office.... and corinna is just making fun because she saw that my office is just a desk under the main stairwell of the building  :blushing: ..... but hey its cozy!

Hi Corinna!
It is great to finally put a face to the name. You look as nice in pictures as you come across in your comments!

Oooo, I feel sooooo flattered right now  :blushing: But thank you so much, all the same, dllb.
After this upcoming weekend with our London TPF Meet-Up I guess there will be lots more faces to be put to names, as I hope to see both many "old" friends from last year's meet-up in Saffron Walden AND many new friends who have become friends via this forum for long but will become even better ones when we meet.
Like meeting Archangel.
It just proved that somehow you look at each other a bit curiously at first (guess what: he hid his eyes behind SHADES - and there I was, expecting to see that man with the BRIGHT and SHINY eyes from the avatar!!! ;) ;)) yet feeling we had actually known each other for just about always.
I just hope you weren't too shocked to see how old I really am, Archie!?!?!?!

Oh wow, I only just saw this thread.. Where are the pics of Arch?
I just hope you weren't too shocked to see how old I really am, Archie!?!?!?!
na, your not old.... you kept up with me just fine..... and we did plenty of walking!
Where are the pics of Arch?
Corinna is not home yet ;) ..... she took two weeks, went to cornwall first, then came to plymouth (to see me) then went to portsmouth, then finally the london meet-up.
So she'll have hunderds of pics to get through no doubt.... and will take a while to get around to the ones of me...... luckily.

Archie admiring both our declared favourite of the photography exhibition.
My "shooting the warship" did not turn out for I had the white balance of that little camera still set on "tungsten", so my photos all came out blue  - and I took all in all 4 before I noticed. Ts! (And the little one does not even BEGIN to shoot RAW, so that would not be an option...!)
Once again I must say thank you to you, Archie, for spending that afternoon with me, helping me to get The Monster (i.e. my bag) into the cloak room at your office, showing me around, explaining things, having lunch and cappuccino with me and all this. It was such an enjoyable, if only short, stay at Plymouth, I loved every minute of it.
AHHHHH..... i look too normal!...... yuk my hair DID get cut too short.... thought as much...... and i appear a little ill in the second one :meh:
Anyways, personal critique over......
Corinna these are cool..... its so much better to see someone else take on my boring ol' city...... cuz i'v seen it a thousand times and can never get inspired.
ok, my helicopter pic wasnt good..... it was way too small with my kit lens on... i'll take another look though... might make an interesting abstract!
Love your 'Drake' and 'Masculinity' ones with the wheel behind it..... thats cool
.....ahh...... the anchor ones..... yea mine were ok..... although you were in the shot in two of em
..... that gravestone image was awesome!..... def my fav.
It was good to meet you too corinna..... glad you enjoyed it. ;)

I unstuck this thread now, so whoever feels like they want to post any more praises, compliments on how good the two of us look, and other such flattering, only positive (!) things ( ) may do so NOW ... or this thread will sink into the vaults of the gallery. ;)

Corrina in that last pic of archangels that is some camera you carry,Can I ask what kind is it and how much it cost lens included
LaFoto

Ah, that one. It's the regular Canon EOS350D with a Sigma DG 70-300mm lens (and the lens hood). The Canon was about 700 Euro last year as the kit (with the kit lens) and the Sigma lens was about 170 Euro in April. Don't know about today's prices ... now that the 400D has come out, the 350D may drop in price. And these kind of Sigma lenses are not expensive (and therefore only mediocre in performance) - but that is all I can afford.

I am thinking of buying a canon 350 D XT rebel kit,Can use any lens with it?
