Hey yall, I just posted this on the nooby forum too. I am fishing a billfish tourney this weekend and will be shooting predominantly with my D50, but wanted to bring along my old Pentax ME for fun as it has a 70-210mm. I want to use it mainly at zoom, meaning that its use would be a marlin hitting the bait, or a wahoo jumping out of the water. Does anyone have any tricks for a clean shot, zoomed that far, with that kind of fast action? Or any cool ideas in general, for that matter on fishing photos?

there can't be any advice. just make sure you load it with fast film (as you will be using a tele lens and I assume you don't want motion blur). 400 ISO should be fine on a normal day

Use a wide angle and put the camera close to the fish.

Unless he can walk on water I'm pretty sure he gonna have to shoot from where ever the boat happens to be.

(Sorry for the Sarcasm)

ISO 400. Shutter at 1/250 - 1/1000, preferably 1/500. f stop as required.
