Brutal dictatorship, weapons of mass distruction, expansionist views...the new leder was the former party secretary of tibet during a brutal rule. the Tibetan perspective offers great insight into what to expect from China over the long haul
read Tears of Blood by Mary Craig for for a short intro read Tibet at the edge of extinction at http://www.tibetanphotoproject.com

sorry ASA, while python might be funny as hell...if there are any people of ethnicity on this board, your song could prove offensive.

My views on China:
Love the people, hate the government.

They've had quite a reputation for human rights abuse since the cultural revolution. It's waning though. China will be the next superpower due to the economic growth that will happen in that country.

Ive wondered about this alot actually. I don't think that they will be a superpower any time soon because they are still a strictly cheap labor country. China has no major brands...it just makes things for brands like Sony, Honda, Panasonic (Japan) Samsung, Kia, Hyundia (Korea) and other international brands.
If China were to develop its own brands, then their economic growth would be greater. only then could they be a super power.
